- Braking System — Four-wheel disc, single-piston calipers. Two caliper suppliers (NBK vs Sumitomo) — pads are caliper-specific. Front 296mm vented, rear 307mm solid.
Faults
- PS Reservoir Hose Brittle — Most common PS leak. Rubber hose hardens, clamp loses seal. Cheap fix (~$30-81).
- PS High Pressure Hose Crack — Rubber section of HP line cracks with age. Expensive fix (~$893).
- Radiator Plastic Tank Crack — Plastic top tank separates from aluminium core. Primary radiator failure mode.
- Caster Arm Bushing Degradation — Most common front suspension failure. Rubber bushings soften/deform. Bump steer, wandering.
- Upper Control Arm Ball Joint Wear — Integrated ball joint in UCA. Requires full arm replacement.
- Factory Camber Tyre Wear — Factory camber (~-1.5°) causes inside-edge tyre wear. Fix with adjustable UCAs.
- Two Caliper Suppliers — Critical for ordering brake pads. SC430 has NBK or Sumitomo calipers — pads are NOT interchangeable. Must inspect caliper before ordering.
